How to Get Your Home Sold in St. Louis

St. Louis has experienced it's ups and downs just like all markets accross the country. Luckely, we are not subject to such huge swings as Phoenix or LA, but we still have work to do to get our inventory of homes sold. Homes are selling across the area in Wildwood, Ladue, Chesterfield, University City and St. Louis City, it just takes some planning.

Here are some strategies to help you get your home sold.

* Don't start with a high price. Hoping that you can price it high and come down later is not a good strategy. Buyers and agents pay the most attention to a home when it first appears on the market. Price it right to start and you will increase your odds of showings and contracts right away.

* Have your agent complete a market analysis. This will give you the proper price range in your area and you can then be informed and price your home competitively so that you are the best choice in the area.

* Make repairs before going on the market. Fixer uppers are slow to sell in the tough markets because buyers can find great prices on homes that are not fixer uppers. Go ahead and do some of the work so the buyer does not see dollar signs when viewing your home.

*Pay attention to the curb appeal. Buyers have many choices in today's market. If they do not like your home from the outside they just may choose to not even look at your home. Spend some time sprucing up the exterior with paint, plants and mulch, along with some good old fashion scrubbing.
